Central to the hotel’s immense lobby and lounge is the Melissi Bar, a sophisticated watering hole,
characterized by a retro elegance. The fully renovated elongated bar is a spot where idling is not
only facilitated, it’s encouraged. Gio-Ponti-inspired interiors manifest in the form of textured
aquamarine tiles that snake around the entirety of the bar, while two colossal curvilinear
brass-accented units are suspended from the ceiling and accommodate spirits. The clean lines,
gentle organic curves and dramatic use of colour and texture set an elegant backdrop
to a drinks’ menu suited to both pre- and post-prandial outings.
From creative, hand-crafted cocktails by award-winning mixologist Aristotelis Papadopoulos – built around local,
seasonal, quality ingredients – and updated versions of classic drinks to a wine list focused on young Greek wineries,
a relaxed, timeless energy is the key ingredient here.

Ready, set, shake! Guest Bartender Events take place twice a month from June to September, bringing world-acclaimed tastemakers to Cretan Malia Park for cocktail crafting sessions. Curated by the award-winning mixologist Aristotelis Papadopoulos, this series mines the rich vein of local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients to create innovative cocktails and updated versions of classic drinks in tandem with lively evenings with music sets by guest DJs.
Highlights of the guest bartender series includes Nikos Gynargiros on June 8, mixology expert from the Athens-based Tasters Club; Thanos Prunarous on June 18, founder of acclaimed Baba Au Rum, Athens voted one of the World’s 50 Best Bars, and July 23 with Jenifer Le Nechet, named world’s best bartender in 2016. Additional guest bartenders will be confirmed throughout the season.
